Stock up on extra plastic covers and garbage bags
If you have been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and it looks like it is going to rain on the day you are moving, a trip to the nearest hardware store is a good idea. You can buy extra large bags or extra large plastic sheeting to protect your furniture and belongings. Some professional moving companies help you deliver moving materials. Or they even pack the stuff for you!
It can help with your large furniture, but it is also nice for the smaller items you have if they are wrapped. So that they do not get damaged or wet. You can put smaller items in a garbage bag so that you have at least protected them for the transport ride.
Protect your floor
If you do not pack your furniture and belongings properly, they will also be wet when you bring them into your new home. Do you have a stone floor or plastic parquet? Then it does not matter that much. But if you have carpeting or a wooden floor. Then that can still cause some problems!
